Austen and tate 2015Our Dream …

Finding a Cure for Crohn’s

Our dream is to find a cure for Crohn’s disease. Seeing my brother, Austen, adjust to living with Crohn’s was a real eye opener and galvanized our whole family to help find a cure.

We have received great support and Austen continues to manage his symptoms and improve his health. There are many others who either have this disease, or who will be diagnosed in the future, that may not have the same level of support as we have. We want to give back and help those that are in need through Great4Life.

Crohn’s, colitis or IBD disease affects 1 in 200 Americans, and 1 in 150 Canadians. It is an chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract, causing weight loss, inability to get nutrition from food, severe pain, often leading to surgery to remove part of digestive tract, and on-set of other diseases.

It’s diagnosis is more prevalent in youth and young adults between the ages of 15 to 35 and can impact their lifelong pursuits. For more information about Crohn’s or Colitis visit www.ccfa.org/what-are-crohns-and-colitis/. A cure will strengthen our youth and future leaders so please support us and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America in any way you can to find a cure!

If you or your family know someone with Crohn’s, show them support by contributing to Great4Life today. All donations go directly to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America with every dollar targeted towards research to find a cure.

We invite you to bookmark our site and track our journey as our family fights to find a cure.  My dad is about to embark on the second epic cycling trip – The 2016 Finding a Cure for Crohn’s Ride for Research – from Santa Monica, California on the Pacific Ocean across the United States to the Atlantic Ocean.

Thank you for your support!

Our Great4Life story is told in this short video.  Although it’s from a few years ago, it shows the start of our mission. The boys are now in university and we are preparing for our next epic ride from Santa Monica, California on the Pacific Ocean across the United States to the Atlantic Ocean. I hope you will follow our adventure!
